I CAN'T NOT MAKE GAMES.

I have enough lockerspace to hold an episode of Friends.

"We'll make a toast to absent friends and better days,
To remembering and being remembered as brave
And not as a bunch of whining jerks!

Don't lose your nerve.
Do not go straight
You must testify
(or I'm going to come to your house and punch you in the mouth)
cause CLOWNS MUST STAND."

Iron Gaia
As the only human awake on board a space station controlled by an insane AI with delusions of deification, you must unravel the mystery of your own identity and discover: "What is the Iron Gaia?"

Thanks, I knew it was broken but I couldn't seem to figure out what was wrong with it then the site started buggin' out.

It's awesome that you can edit the colors in the editor, that's boss. I'm pretty happy with the character creator in general.

Well, an excuse to mess around with the character generator.

I was actually wearing a suit recently (like twice in two weeks, lol).

My beard does not cover this much of my face (I have been shaving cheeks/neck and growing out the chin area as much as possible for months). Also the hair shade is not quite right: my hair is darker and more auburn. But whatevs.

I need help...

It's amazingly reductionist but also I think profoundly true: the solution to your problem like the root of it is almost purely neuro-chemical. What you need is to talk to a psychiatrist, not a mere psycho-therapist. Tell them exactly what you told us, ESPECIALLY the part about struggling with recurrent suicidal ideation and how it is effecting your quality of life.

If this practitioner is remotely qualified, they will prescribe you something that should make you feel loads better within like two weeks. If that shit doesn't, tell them and they should try something else. I'm not a big proponent of "the talking cure" but proper psychiatric meds are really important when battling depression.

Thoughts on RPG Maker MV?

The character generator seems very robust at a glance, color me impressed with that aspect. This might be random, but I actually appreciate how few entries there are in the sample database. The RTP style is pretty inoffensive.

So scripts are now 'plugins' and need to be created outside the program and then imported into the plugins folder? That's...odd. Do they still use Ruby?

Is there an event command in the program to toggle side-view battle on and off during gameplay?

THE MVLYMPICS! {Sign Ups Ended}

Alright, I'll sign up, although I may be unable to actually participate since I'll be out of town on vacation. Still, doesn't hurt anything to sign up.

(I just finished installing the trial.)

Thoughts on RPG Maker MV?

Sounds like a lot of disappointment and complaints, most of them pretty reasonable. I think that I might check it out just because I am blessed with a bit of disposable income and free time right now, and I'm curious.

I am pretty darn satisfied with VX Ace and all of the support and additional resources available for it, though, so an actual switch seems unlikely even if MV blows me away.

Edit: Hmm, 80 BUCKS? Maybe I'll just check out the trial for now.

Edit 2: 1.1 Gigababies? Dafuq?

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

I think his name is "Andreas Aspenberg". Not "Andrea Saspenberg".

Not like there's any way to tell with it all typed out with no spaces and in lower case.

THE MVLYMPICS! {Sign Ups Ended}

This is probably veering into dumb question territory, but does participating in this event require RPG Maker MV?

What are you thinking about right now?

Cheekbones:

Now that that's done with, if I were smart, I would not type "rpgmaker.net" into my browser URL bar again until I've got a hankering to make or play some RPG Maker games. (Which is a condition that seems to effect me more-or-less annually, or at least has for the last decade or so.)

Also, my game company's second Kickstarter funded successfully in the last 48 hours. What a nailbiter. Pretty stoked. : )

This is an argument I'm super not-interested in having because arguing the definition of a word is pretty pointless, but 'racism' when brought up in a historical, sociological or academic context means something different than its everyday basic language use. The notion of 'racism is prejudice plus power' is a school of sociological thought and not something made up by 'SJWs' trying to win an argument. Not an attempt to redefine the word but to give it context.

From Wikipedia
In sociology and psychology, some definitions include only consciously malignant forms of discrimination. Some definitions of racism also include discriminatory behaviors and beliefs based on cultural, national, ethnic, caste, or religious stereotypes. One view holds that racism is best understood as 'prejudice plus power' because without the support of political or economic power, prejudice would not be able to manifest as a pervasive cultural, institutional or social phenomenon.

This is exactly the bullshit factually unsupported definition made up by SJWs that I'm talking about. 'Racism = prejudice plus power' is not the actual definition of racism! It is not a valid definition of racism. It is not a recognized definition of racism. Outside of "social justice" circles.

Whereas this is the actual definition of the word.

In spite of a massive effort to the contrary by subversive forces: words still have meanings.

When SJWs and everyone else can no longer agree on the meaning of a word it is really, really hard to have a meaningful conversation.

To put this a little more gently, in case that's more helpful?

Anyhow...I don't really give much of a shit about people's preferred pronouns. Perhaps I would prefer to be referred to as batman whenever not referred to by name. I'm not going to get offended if someone fails to refer to me as batman.

@bulmabriefs:

I met a creature (if 'it' is someone's preferred pronoun, then presumably 'creature' is their preferred descriptor, rather than man, woman, or person?) online once that wanted to be referred to as "it". It felt SUPER WRONG to me but I tried to go along with it's wishes. I kept feeling like I was doing something wrong because referring to anyone as it just feels so rude to me.

Anyway it and I are no longer acquainted. It was actually kind of an asshole.
